Please read these terms carefully before making a rental booking or showroom appointment with Elan. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these terms.
Elan is a designer dress rental service operating from our showroom at Leeson Street, Dublin. We offer online and in-person rental bookings of curated designer pieces for special occasions.
Bookings can be made online via our website or in person at our Leeson Street showroom. By completing a booking, you confirm that:
You are aged 18 or over.
The information you have provided is accurate and complete.
You have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
Bookings are subject to availability. Confirmation of your booking will be sent to the email address provided at checkout.
Rentals are available for 4, 8, or 12 days. Your rental period begins on the first day of your booking, as specified in your order confirmation.
If you require a rental for a longer period, please contact us in advance to discuss availability and pricing. Extended rental periods are subject to availability and must be agreed in writing prior to your booking.
Your rental will be available to collect from our Leeson Street showroom on the first day of your booking, during opening hours. If you require collection at a different time, please contact us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Items must be returned to our Leeson Street showroom in their original packaging by the date specified in your order confirmation.
Late returns will be charged at €30 per day to the card on file. Late returns may affect subsequent customers’ bookings. If you anticipate a late return, please contact us as soon as possible.
Rentals may be cancelled up to 5 days before your booking date for a full refund. Cancellations made within 5 days of the booking date are non-refundable.
We are unable to issue refunds or credit notes where an item does not fit. We strongly recommend booking a showroom appointment to try pieces before committing to a rental.
Showroom appointments are charged at €15, redeemable in full against rental bookings made on the day of your appointment. Appointment cancellations made 24 hours or more in advance are fully refunded. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment are non-refundable.
You are responsible for the reasonable care of all rental items during your rental period. Please note the following:
Do not attempt to clean or launder any rental item. All cleaning is carried out by our specialist team on return. Attempting to clean an item may result in a damage charge.
If you are aware of a stain or soiling, please notify us of the source on return. This helps our team care for the piece and minimise any damage costs.
Items should be stored and transported with reasonable care.
Optional damage cover is available for €15 per rental and can be added at checkout. Damage cover includes the cost of repairable damage — including missing buttons, broken zips, and stain removal — up to a maximum repair cost of €100 per rental.
Damage cover does not include:
Theft or loss of an item.
Damage beyond repair.
Repair costs in excess of €100.
Where damage or loss falls outside the scope of damage cover, you will be liable for the cost of repairs or, where an item cannot be repaired, the full recommended retail price (RRP) of the item.
If you do not purchase damage cover and an item is returned damaged, you will be liable for the full cost of any repairs or, where necessary, replacement at RRP.
If a rental item is lost or stolen during your rental period, please contact us as soon as possible. You may be liable for the full RRP of the item. Damage cover does not cover loss or theft.
Every item is inspected before it leaves us to ensure it is in pristine condition. If you believe an item is not as described or expected upon collection, please contact us immediately. We will do our best to find a suitable resolution.
Minor signs of wear consistent with previous rentals do not constitute a fault. We will always aim to provide items in the best possible condition.
Sizing varies between designers and brands. We aim to include specific sizing information in each product description. If you have questions about the fit of a particular piece, please contact us before booking.
We recommend booking a showroom appointment if you are unsure about sizing. If there is a specific piece you would like to try, please contact us in advance to confirm it will be available at your appointment. We are unable to issue refunds where an item does not fit.
Full payment is required at the time of booking. We accept all major credit and debit cards. By completing a booking, you authorise us to charge the card on file for any additional amounts due under these terms, including late return charges or damage costs not covered by damage cover.
Delivery is not currently available. All items must be collected from and returned to our Leeson Street showroom. We will notify customers when a delivery service becomes available.
We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is available on our website. By making a booking or signing up to our newsletter, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which it was collected, including processing your booking, communicating with you about your rental, and — where you have opted in — sending you marketing communications. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Irish data protection law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Elan’s liability to you in connection with your rental or use of our services is limited to the value of your booking.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
We reserve the right to update these terms and conditions from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your booking will apply to that booking. We will notify customers of any material changes via email or on our website.
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland. Any disputes arising in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
